Franz, 60 years old, is a fan of classical music. He knows all about the history of Austria’s famous composers. While Mozart is most famous for a lot of people, Franz appreciates Strauss even more. ‘An der schönen blauen Donau’ can move him to tears. Franz presented with haematuria and pain in his right flank.
- ECOG PS: 0
 - Obesity, otherwise no notable medical history
 - CT scan: right renal mass, no metastatic lesions, no retroperitoneal adenopathy
 
He underwent radical nephrectomy of the right kidney. Pathological findings:
- pT3a tumour of 9.5 cm
 - WHO/ISUP grade 3 ccRCC
 - No sarcomatoid features
 - Negative surgical margins
 
6 weeks after nephrectomy, the patient has recovered and comes to you for check-up.
